RivEX can process topologically correct networks that have their node information stored within the attribute table of the dataset.  RivEX can handle braided/multi-threaded networks and the output is typically a new field containing the computed value.

The current version of RivEX can compute and assign the following network attributes:
Strahler order
Shreve order
Hack order
Catchment ID
Distance from network mouth
Distance to source
Sum of upstream length
Main channel
Loop ID
Source ID
Monotonicity
More advice about network attribution is given in the manual.
