RivEX

The first step to processing any river network with RivEX is to create the RivEX Workspace, this is a folder containing specific sub-folders and a settings file. The RivEX Workspace is an important concept you need to understand and is explained on this page.  

It is very easy to create! Simply go to RivEX Toolbox > Prepare River Network > Create a RivEX workspace.  Select the folder where your File GeoDatabase is and click Run.

RivEX will build a sub-folder called RivEX_Workspace and that is it!

You typically only ever need to create a workspace once for the river network, it is rare you to need to delete it but heed the warnings about renaming/removing files from the workspace.

Having created a workspace you are now ready to extract the topology of your river network.
