A demonstration copy of RivEX

• You can download from this web page a fully functional version of RivEX (version 5.7) that can run on any machine.  It will only work with the supplied sample dataset, which is a small section of a catchment in Alaska taken from the NHD website.  It is provided to show you how RivEX functions and the typical output.

• Running the demo version will allow you to test RivEX with your system setup. If RivEX successfully runs then you will have confirmed that your version of ArcMap can run RivEX and RivEX+ and that you have the required DLL's on your computer.  Please be aware that a purchased version of RivEX will be locked to a specific computer.

• The river network was taken  from the NHD website and stripped of all fields except the original ComID  field.

• Example point datasets are provided so you can use RivEX to query the network.

• The RivEX Demo and sample data are provided as a single downloadable zip file. You can also download an Adobe pdf file which provides a few walkthroughs to show you some of the tools of RivEX.

Before you download the demo please read the below information!

1. You must create 2 directories on your computer:

   • C:\RivEX
   • C:\RivEX\Output.

2. Unzip all files into C:\RivEX.

3. Open the Demo RivEX MXD file and add the sample polyline dataset.  RivEX will only enable with this dataset loaded.  It will not function with any other polyline dataset.

4. Four Shapefiles containing imaginary sites are included, make sure you use the snapped datasets when querying the river network.
