Purchase RivEX

Please read all of this page before continuing - understand before you buy!
RivEX can be purchased for only £50 (approximately 75$\70€) (academic) or £100 (approximately155$\135€) (non-academic).  Dollars/Euros will vary slightly due to exchange rate. This low price has been achieved by not using expensive web site services or using expensive ESRI extensions.  So before you buy please read the following section to understand what you get, especially this.
What is not included?
To keep costs as low as possible, RivEX is sold and delivered via the internet.  So no hardcopy of the manual or installation disc are provided.  Printing and posting is expensive, it is environmentally unfriendly and the cost would ultimately be passed on to you the purchaser.
What do you get?
You will be emailed a link to a compressed file containing RivEX developed as an AddIn and license file.  Follow some simple instructions to extract the tool and license file.  RivEX will be "locked" to your operating system.  The license file ensures that you are not allowed to run RivEX on more than one machine. If you wish to have RivEX running on more than one computer you must purchase extra copies.

If you are concerned about compatibility you can download a demonstration version. This will confirm that your system setup is compatible with RivEX.

Compatibility

The tool is developed in ArcGIS 10.2.1 as an ESRI AddIn, it is not compatible with 10.2 or earlier versions of ArcMap.
How do you buy RivEX?

The RivEX website is fairly simple and uses PayPal for a secure credit card transaction.  RivEX never sees or stores your credit card details.  You do not need an account with PayPal to purchase RivEX.  For more information on PayPal please visit their website at www.paypal.com.

When I get the automatic email from this website with your registration details and an email from PayPal informing me of a successful credit card transaction I will construct the license file and email you a temporary dropbox download link.

If someone else is purchasing the software on your behalf please check the appropriate box in step 4 on the registration page and enter their name and email address.  This information is used only to link your registration details from the RivEX website with the purchase details in my PayPal account. Failing to do this may result in delay of delivery.

I would only be able to return money via PayPal.
Remember once purchased all future upgrades are free for the major release version!

If you want to buy more than 1 copy of RivEX please contact me and I can arrange an alternate payment method.
What do you need to do to purchase RivEX?

As part of the purchase procedure you must provide your Microsoft Windows product ID number.  This gets encoded into the license file and locks RivEX to that Operating System.  Once you have completed this, follow the link to PayPal.com to complete your purchase.  You will be emailed a link to download RivEX usually within 24 hours.  If RivEX was purchased during the weekend it may not be ready for you until the beginning of the working week. Please be patient if this is the case.
Delivery format

RivEX is supplied as a compressed (zip) file.  It will be uploaded to a temporary dropbox folder and you will be sent an email with a link to it.

The download location is temporary and will be removed, so it's important that you keep a copy of the zip file in case your copy of RivEX gets corrupted.

The email that you will receive with the dropbox link will also include instructions on how to install RivEX which is a very simple process. If you have any concerns you are welcome to contact
me.

At concept stage it was decided that RivEX should be designed and sold for the lowest possible price.  This means that it is well within the budget of a student, academic or professional and encourages uptake of the tool.  Once purchased all future upgrades are free for the current major release!
