The error dialog
- RivEX reports all errors in a custom dialog box. An example is shown below.

- There are 3 levels of severity that are reported as indicated by the dialog's icon:
- System - An error outside the control of RivEX has occurred, for example a missing file.
- Critical - An error occurred within RivEX which is stopping execution.
- Warning - A non-fatal error or simply a warning informing you of some situation.
- Each error box has the following information:
- Unique error number
- Error log indicator
- Online manual link indicator
- Message title
- Error description
- If the error generates an error log file (not all errors do this) the indicator will be YES and a text file is created listing the status of certain variables when the error occurred. This is always stored in C:\RivEX\Output.
- If the online manual link is YES then you can click on this to be transferred to the manual which will contain information and advice about the error.
- The error messages are stored in an external file (ErrorDB.xml) which must be kept in the same folder as the RivEX MXD.
