Monotonic trend in measured networks

Report the monotonic value of your measured polylines

Whilst a polyline may flow in the correct direction it's m-values may have become corrupted or were not properly calibrated when set. You can use this quality control tool to identify problems with your measured data if route events are not plotting in an expected manner.

This tool is found under the "M Network" button and then the quality control for measured network tab, as shown below.

Where the tool is located

This tool will work only on PolylineM FeatureClasses. It creates a dBase file and lists for all polylines a code indicating the Monotonic trend of the measured polylines.

The codes generated are:

Code	Description
N	The measure values along the polyline are not yet set (i.e the M values were "NaN")
L	All measure values are the same value along the polyline
I	The measure values are increasing in value with the flow direction of the polyline
D	The measure values are decreasing in value with the flow direction of the polyline
M	The measure values are mixed such that there are sequences which increase, level off and/or decrease along the polyline
