How to join tables

• The example used here is to join an error table created by RivEX to the attribute table of a river network.

1. Ensure the error dbase file is loaded into ArcMap

2. Right click on your river layer and select Joins and Relates>Join...

3. Set the join properties as show below. Your river ID field may be named differently, so select the one you chose when you ran the quality control.

4. The fields of the error dbase file will be joined to your river network as two fields at the end of the table.

5. Select the menu option Selection>Select by Attributes... and for example create the expression:

"Short2VertexPolylines.PolylineID" >0

6. Running this query will select all the polylines that failed the quality control.
